Atlanta Deal: 1.75%, 24-Month CD Rates
Georgia Primary Bank’s best deal on CD rates has slipped nearly half a point since last we looked at this bank in July 2010.
Still, its 1.75% APY offer on 24-month CD rates with a minimum deposit of $1,000 beats the top nationally available deal by almost a tenth of a percentage point. New York-based Melrose Credit Union offers the top nationally available deal at 1.66% APY.
The bank’s offer is also more than a point above the average yield of 0.73% APY on 24-month CDs offered by big banks and thrifts throughout the country.
These certificates of deposit must be purchased at the bank’s only office — 3880 Roswell Road in Atlanta — and you must be a Georgia resident to buy one.
